Our studio does not promote any specific style of yoga but welcomes those methods which lead toward sincere enquiry, a deeper connection with the self and the calm wellness that naturally arises from that state.
Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment with informed and experienced tuition for personal development and self-enquiry which the practice of yoga inspires. Our classes, workshops and courses are for everybody, from complete beginners to more experienced practitioners. From new born babies through to retired folks and everyone in between, we aim to provide accessible yoga so that everyone who is interested may be welcomed and made to feel at home with us.
At Yoga Torquay we honour and respect the Indian origins of yoga. We believe that yoga, which has great potential as a way of conditioning the body, is much more than a physical workout and is ultimately a spiritual practice in which mental clarity and freedom are available through practice and self enquiry. We teach a holistic approach to yoga, informed by traditions of Tantra, Hatha yoga, Raja yoga and Bhakti yoga.
